My 10 Gallon Reef tank
This tank was setup with some non-cycled live rock from the FIJI via LFS and some sand, no lights for now and letting sit for a month or so. Started July 15, 2010. After a month, I will start measuring parameters. I am having this be my big tank to maintain simplicity. Top off with filtered water from the tap. Once cycle is complete I will add fish (to be decided) and after several months my thoughts for now are some macro algae (NOT caulerpa) and making this a single species coral - Pocillopora. I will be looking into lighting to add, looking to use something small and cheap as this is a shallow tank and will not need much to keep the sps happy. Lighting will be going up soon.
I recently got an order of snails and hermits from GARF along with their bag of bugs. Great stuff. Any day their GARF Grunge should arrive to help seed my sand bed and tank with lots of good critters. I now have a little chaeto and Halimeda in the tank, which should do better under the T5's than the LED I have now. Plans for this tank are captive bred Banghai Cardinals if I can #2, and Pocillopora, Montipora and maybe Heliopora.
